National Conference on Hate Speech and Strengthening Social Cohesion in South Sudan

The South Sudan Media Authority, in collaboration with Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), announces a National Conference on Promoting Ethical and Responsible Journalism to combat Hate Speech and Incitement to Violence in South Sudan. Under the theme:

"Beyond the Painful Divides." 

The conference will bring together Ministers of Information and Communication, media representatives, and members of CSO's representative from the Ten State and the Three Administrative Areas , government officials, faith-based organizations, community leaders, digital content creators, civil society organizations, journalists, media managers, and the develoopment partners to examine the role of ethical journalism and responsible communication in promoting peace, social cohesion, and democratic development.

Discussions will focus on conflict-sensitive reporting, media regulation and accountability, digital media challenges, and collective action against hate speech.
